Cafe Royale

Cheers from Café Royale, Lower Nob Hill’s best-kept secret: neighborhood beer & wine bar, host to weekly live jazz from around the Bay Area, and a variety of eclectic events true to the character of the unmistakable neighborhood it’s situated in.  With new promotional events exploring the talents and creativity that keeps the city from sliding into the Bay, the Royale looks to expand their audience with a number of groundbreaking events:

Hawaiian ex-pat Mark Hayashida, previously sous-chef at Blowfish & School, brings his pop-up sushi kitchen to the space on Tuesday nights, offering low prices on freshly made rolls and sashimi with a Hawaiian twist. A live band leads a raucous Monday night karaoke dedicated solely to the Beatles songbook. Sundays remain dedicated to live jazz, and Opera on Tap, a now-nationwide organization bridging opera into the bar setting, has made the Royale its residence one Saturday evening each month.

An ever-rotating beer selection exhibits some of the lesser-known breweries around the golden state and beyond, with the staff more than happy to share their knowledge on the product. Sponsoring live theater events, supporting local artists through rotating monthly exhibitions, and bringing drink specials to a diverse neighborhood in need of a home base, the Café Royale stands to serve a neighborhood responsible for generating the heartbeat of downtown. Come and meet the new neighbors at 800 Post St. @ Leavenworth, find your new favorite beer on tap, and discover this unmistakable space that’s been flying under the radar for years.
